Kaw Nation Police Department Headquarters is located at 746 Grandview Drive, Kaw City, Oklahoma, with a substation located at 3201 ½ East River Road in Newkirk, OK. 74647.

Kaw Nation has provided law enforcement services for its people for many years. Our vision is to provide the most professional services for our people. In Section 101 of the By-laws, it states the Kaw Nation Tribal Police Department shall be divided by the Chief of Police into three different divisions: Patrol, Criminal and Communications.

 

Kaw Nation Police Department By laws; Section 1 states: “There is hereby established a Tribal Law Enforcement Department within the Tribal Administration to be known as the “Kaw Tribal Police Department”. It shall be the duty of all employees assigned to the Kaw Tribal Police Department to serve the public by enforcement of the tribal laws and rendering such assistance relative to law enforcement as may be necessary, and to protect all persons and property within the Tribal jurisdiction from criminal activities.”

 

Meet the individuals listed below that provide protection for you and all Kaw tribal land.

Chief of Police - Roy Childs
Roy Childs started his career with the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Police in March, 1986. He started working for Kaw Nation in 1992; after attending supervisor training in1995. He became Police Chief in July, 1999. Roy has 23 years in Law Enforcement Services, 17 of them have been with the Kaw Nation.
 

Dan Tebow – Police Officer
Dan Tebow started his career with the Medford Police Department in 1971 and in 1974 went to the Ponca City Police Department, retiring as a Captain in 1999. After retiring, Dan worked five years as an International Police Officer serving 4 1/2 years in Kosovo and 6 months in Iraq. Dan joined the Kaw Nation Police Department in January 2009. He has 33 years in Law Enforcement and is certified with CLEET.
 

Tony Coleman – Police Officer
Tony joined the Kaw Nation Police Department April 16, 2007. He has worked for the Kay County Sheriff’s Department as a Reserve Deputy, and the Otoe Tribal Police Department. Tony completed his Criminal Jurisdiction in Indian Country in 2008, and is certified with Cleet and the BIA.
 

Tex Golay – Police Officer
Tex Golay started his career in Law Enforcement with the Ponca City Police Department in November, 1970. He has also worked for the Wichita Police Department, Osage and Kay County Sheriff’s Department. He has spent the last 14 years with the Kaw Nation Police Department. Tex is certified with Cleet and BIA. Tex has over 31 years in Law Enforcement. He states; “I spent years putting thiefs, burglar, rapiest, child molesters, and a murderer into prison”.
 

Wade Locke – Police Officer
Wade Locke joined the Military Police in 1988. After completing his time in the service, he began a career in Law Enforcement with Kay County. He joined Kaw Nation Police Department in 2003. Wade is certified both with Cleet and BIA.
 

Yvonne Warrior – Police Officer
Yvonne Warrior started her career in Law Enforcement in August, 2004 with the White Eagle Police Department. She joined Kaw Nation Police Department on July 7th, 2008. Yvonne is BIA certified.
