About the Kaw Nation Sex Offender Registration Program (KNSOR)

 

Thanks to a federal grant the Kaw Nation is able to set up a sex offender web site that is compliant with the Sex Offender Registration Notification Act (SORNA). This site will have public access so that anyone can view it. The (KNSOR) is linked with The Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW). This program will identify convicted sex offenders living in, working on, working for, or visiting the Kaw Nation service area of Kay County, Oklahoma.

 

Mission Statement

 

The Kaw Nation Sex Offender Registration Program (KNSOR) is in place to protect tribal members and their families from convicted sex offenders. In compliances with Sex Offender Registration Notification Act (SORNA) the Tribe and Territories Sex Offender Registration System (TTSORS) will bring awareness to the Kaw Nation community of convicted sex offenders.

The planning committee objective is to make a comprehensive plan for the substantial implementation of the Kaw Nation Sex Offender Registration Program. This is achieved by meeting the requirements of SORNA as interpreted and explained in the Final Guidelines.
