We the people of the Kaw Nation enjoy the sovereign right to govern ourselves.
The tribal government, similar in nature to the governing bodies of some
corporations, consists of both an elected
Executive Council,
headed by a Chairperson/CEO, and a
General Council,
comprised of all enrolled tribal members above the age of eighteen. In
addition to these Legislative and Executive bodies, there is also a
Tribal Court System.
All branches of the Kaw Nation government are established by and adherent to
the tribal Constitution. We invite you to browse these pages to learn more about the
government of the Kaw Nation. In the near future, we shall also begin posting
