Kaw Nation Tribal Headquarters is located at 698 Grandview Drive in Kaw
City, OK. These headquarters includes a complex of four buildings, which houses
several different departments; Grants & Contracts, Title VI (Kitchen),
Environmental Department, Kanza Museum, Kanza News, ICDGB, Human Resources, Kaw
Nation Court System, Administrative Offices, Accounting, Kaw Nation Police, IT
Department, Self –Governance, Constitution Reform, NAGPRA, Maintenance/Roads
Department, and the Chairman/CEO.
Located directly across the highway at 801 Washunga, you will find our new
Education and Social Services Building, which houses Enrollment, Language,
Education, and Social Services/Child Support Programs. Located adjacent to this
building is our Educational Learning Center, which is now under construction.
These learning programs will encompass language, culture, environmental, job
skill training, educational programs, a library, and distance learning
facilities. This facility will have a meeting room, research area, library,
teleconference and audio/video capabilities, and two unique features which are
the outdoor reading-story telling area and a walking trail focusing on a
holistic family learning approach.
Kaw Nation actively partners with the community of which it is a part of.
Our two new buildings in Kaw City are on land donated by the City of Kaw City.
In partnership with Kay County Commissioners, the tribe has completed bridge
repairs and resurfaced many miles of a major road. Kaw Nation economic
development plans include joint tribal-city water treatment projects and
alternative energy programs involving communities and other tribes. Kaw Nation
is one of the largest employers in Kay County with an economic impact of
$225,000,000 in 2008.
