The Kaw Nation Tribal Youth Program conducted a cleanup on April 17, 2004. They picked up trash along the highways leading into Newkirk and Kaw City as well as the areas around the tribal facilities. Through this effort the Tribal Youth not only exhibited their pride in their native lands, they also set an example for other tribal members and the residents of the area communities. By removing the trash they not only contributed to the restoration of their environment they also had a hand in protecting it.
We all need to pay a little more attention to the health and the beauty of the land where we live, Oklahoma is the heartland, one of the places that still remain pristine in many ways, let's keep it that way. If we all lend these youth a hand and show respect for their efforts we are not only showing our appreciation we will also be encouraging everyone else to do the same. Your community is watching you!
Thanks Tribal Youth!!!!!!!
