Chairman/CEO

Born in old Washunga, Guy Munroe moved with his family to Kansas as a young man. There he made a name for himself as a champion roper and a successful businessman. He eventually turned his attention toward tribal government at the urging of a friend. He was elected to the office of Kaw Nation Chairman/CEO in 2002--the first Kansan to lead the tribe in over a century.

In his tenure as Chairman/CEO, Mr. Munroe has worked to add many programs and services to make life better for disadvantaged tribal members and elders. He has also drawn on his experiences in the business world to help improve the financial future of the Kaw Nation, through the expansion of enterprises and the tribe's natural resource base.
